[WSIS CS-Plenary] who is attending?: WSIS Asia Pacific meeting

I am going to the WSIS AP meeting from Bangalore, India, and I had replied
to Izumi directly on his email id. Now, after the email from Renata below, I
thought I must also register the fact with the cs plenary list. Yes, now
when I think of it, it is surprising that no one responded to Izumi's and
Karen's mail, unless all of us did what I did - write to him directly to
avoid sending un-necessary emails through the common cs list. But since now
it is emerging as an issue, lets all who are going to Tehran raise our hands
and take a head count. Thanks.  

I must also mention here that I learnt about the meeting only from the
CRIS's offer on various email lists for supporting CS members visit to the
conference.

Amir has written below to the CSB. We still have to establish whether not
enough people were ready to show up or whether there was a deliberate
attempt in the environment to exclude CS.

Dear Friends,

We have assessed the presence of civil society in the Tehran regional
conference for WSIS (31 May-2 June) under ESCAP, we simply do not see the
real place for civil society and lack of support to NGOs, so we decided that

ICTRC will not attend this conference. We are trying to arrange another
regional conference just for civil society in August in Kish islands to have

some real discussions, and we are very hopeful to provide some fellowships
for the region. We believe the presence of civil society in this
governmental conference will be just a lip service.

Izumi asked some time back who was planning to attend the WSIS AP meeting 
in Teheran, May 29-Jun 2. I didn't see many responses.

Could anyone who is attending let us know? we are keen to discuss 
participation prior to the meeting.
