Subject: [CS Bureau] FINAL REMINDER - CSB Questionnaire
Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2004 10:10:40 -0400
FINAL REMINDER - Please reply by today, June 15th
Please note that only the following focal points have returned and/or
replied in relation to the CSB member survey which I sent out a few
weeks ago
- North America & Europe
- Youth Caucus
- Cities & Local Authorities
- Union Family
- Disabilities
- NGO Family
- Gender Caucus
The rest of you HAVE not replied - please do, as I think I have given
everyone enough notice and time to see the questionnaire, complete it
- and fill it in.
At 15:00 GMT on June 16th (tomorrow), I will summarize the
information sent, post it on the CSB wiki and announce the results on
the plenary list - and mention it on the WSIS CS conference call
scheduled for tomorrow.
I am very disappointed and dismayed at the fact that very few of us
seem to be interested in participating in discussions in between
bureau physical meetings.
Perhaps problematic for some, but for many the CS Bureau is
increasingly seem as a body that can play a very key intermediary
role between governments, the wsis secretariat and other key actors.
If you have comments and/or suggestions - as several of us have
mentioned before - PLEASE LET THEM BE KNOWN. They can be negative,
critical - it doesn't matter, what's needed is to hear your opinion.
If you don't make your comments known to the bureau - then the
assumption is made that all is OK.
The survey which I took the effort to develop is aimed at assessing
who exactly is participating, details about them - so that the bureau
itself can be as open and transparent as possible. The survey also
has another aim - to include your feedback and comments in the
discussions underway to reform all structures of CS in the WSIS
process. So again - PLEASE - complete the survey if you haven't done
so already.
Failure to reply - will be interpreted as a lack of interest, and
bring into question your ability to provide the required minimum
level of commitment needed as a CSB member.
in summary - do you take you role as focal point (or alternate)
seriously? Then participate (if you haven't already). If you don't
care, and want to be seen as abandoning your role and responsibility
as CSB focal point - then, by all means do not reply.
regards,
Robert
