Dear Friends,

I will repeat here the plan for how civil society goes about the
selection of proposed speakers for the Tunis Summit, which was
accepted at the CS Plenary meeting this morning.

1. the list of nominated persons has been provided for the plenary
this morning

2. A selection committee to shorten the list of proposed speakers
will be composed of:
     - 1 member from each regional group (Africa, Asia, Latin
America / Carribean, and West Europe / US)
     - 1 member from bureau
     - 1 representative of Content and Themes
     - a representative the WSIS Executive Secretariat in advisory
capacity

3. Content and Themes Group discusses at its meeting at 1800 hours in
Rm XXII the qualifications that the selection committee should take
into account, i.e. thematic balance, regional balance, gender
balance, age diversity, "high profile" speakers, and other
considerations

4. The selection committee then meets in the evening to go through
the nominations and bring them down to an acceptable number

5. The selection committee reports tomorrow morning on the selection
to plenary for final approval.
