dear all,

** please share with your caucuses and working groups - this is only in
relation to sub-committee A work**

-----

I wanted to update you on the process in the coming days for Civil Society
written contributions to Chapter 3. This is based on informal discussions
with the ITU secretariat responsible for receiving, uploading and
incorporating submisssions into compilation and working documents.

Please note - this information is given informally, and is the 'best guess'
of the secretariat, so please take it in that spirit.

Status of document
------------------
No new texts will be included in any whole/part compilation documents in
relation to AGREED TEXT.

At the moment that relates to paragraphs 39-43. However, we may hear during
tonights Sub-Committee that other paragraphs have been agreed.

Complete compilation documents
-------------------------
The current compilation - DT14/Rev1 - *may* be the last full compilation
document to be provided in hard copy this week. The costs of reproducing
some 1500 copies of a 40 page document are obviously significant.

However, submissions received continue to be both

- posted on the ITU website:
http://www.itu.int/wsis/documents/listing-all.asp?lang=en&c_event=pc2|3&c_type=co|
- and will be included in any electronic updated compilation (this however,
may only be produced after prepcom)

This means that any texts that were submitted after production of the last
compilation document, *may* not be reproduced in hard copy this week -
unless they relate to chapter 5.

A new compilation document will be prepared for Chapter 5. Follow-up and
Possible Future Arrangements (para 62 - Forum and Oversight Mechanism etc)

It is likely that such a compilation will not be produced until Friday,
which means that any caucus/working group/organisation wishing to submit
text in relation to chapter 5, should send them to:

<wsis-contributions at itu.int>

as soon as possible, but certainly i would say, ** before tomorrow
lunchtime - thursday, sep 29th ** if you wish to see your text in the
compilation document on Chapter 5 and available to all government delegates.

Again, this is all informal, 'best guess' estimates.

karen
