Dr. Jeanette Hofmann, Research Fellow at the Social Science Research Center of Berlin (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung) joins five other academics as a partner in the Internet Governance Project. (http://www.internetgovernance.org)
Hofmann's combination of perceptive scholarship and real-world involvement is a perfect combination for the IGP mission. In addition to drafting scholarly studies on topics such as the IETF's governance structures, the role of civil society in global governance, and ICANN's experiment with democracy, she has served on ICANN's Nominating Committee, co-coordinated the WSIS-civil society's Internet Governance Caucus, and worked as a member of the German delegation to WSIS. The Internet Governance Project is a research and policy analysis consortium focused on international Internet policy issues. Founded in the U.S., the IGP will continue to add partners from other world regions as appropriate collaborative relationships are forged.
