I agree, Bill. And, the truthout story seems to support the analysis,
what with Rice's support for, and lying about, the US policy of
torturing prisoners--or sending to other countries where they can be
tortured without interference. I often wonder why the response of UN
officials and member-states is so timid that it never amounts to more
than finger-wagging at the US. Unfortunately, "Kofi" already has a
name that sounds kind of endearing (remember what happened when he,
in another capacity, ignored the situation in Rwanda--lots of people
dead and he got a promotion).
