2004: CONSOLIDACIÓN DE LA CAMPAÑA CRIS
Los pasados meses, desde nuestro último mensaje
editorial, estuvieron cargados de trabajo, actividades
y novedades para la Campaña de CRIS. La presencia de
nuestros miembros en eventos realizados en distintos
puntos del planeta, la activa participación en la
CMSI, la actualización y puesta a punto del website
local CRIS-Italia, la nueva estrategia desarrollada
para la versión internacional de Crisinfo.org y nuevos
proyectos son la evidencia de que la Campaña de CRIS
continúa avanzando y creciendo.

2004: CONSOLIDATION OF THE CRIS CAMPAIGN
These past few months, since our last update, have
been busy for the CRIS Campaign. A number of events
across the globe, participation at WSIS, the
development of a new local CRIS website (Italy), a new
strategy for managing the global Crisinfo.org, and
other substantive projects – all provide evidence of
the CRIS Campaign’s growth and moving forward.

Kummer, Coordinador Ejecutivo del WGIG. Cantidad de
delegados - aproximadamente 250 (preponderancia de
representantes de gobiernos).

INDYMEDIA @ THE ESF
At the heart of one of the worlds most techno-surveyed
capital cities, thousands of people from a huge array
of social movements will gather in London for this
years European Social Forum. Indymedia is hosting a
four-day Indymedia centre (IMC) to facilitate
reporting and DIY media production around the ESF and
other autonomous spaces and actions in London. Come
and join us from October 14th  17th in London. We

UK: PARTNERSHIP WILL PROVIDE 1000S OF LOW-COST
COMPUTERS FOR DEVELOPMENT WORK IN EAST AFRICAN DRY
LANDS
APC members ALIN-EA and Computer Aid have come
together in order to extend low cost PCs to
not-for-profit community development groups working in
the rural dry lands across East Africa.

AUSTRALIA: FORUM FOR INDEPENDENT MEDIA-MAKERS 
'Upgrade available' is a mini-forum taking place in
Fitzroy, Australia in October that will discuss how
independent and community-based media practitioners
can engage with communications technologies.

PHILIPPINES: COMMUNICATIONS RIGHTS ACTIVISTS FROM
ACROSS ASIA PLAN ACTIONS AND SOLIDARITY
A workshop held in Manila focused on pressing
communication rights issues in the Asian region
including attacks on freedom of expression and
independent media. Activists issued a statement in
support of a Thai colleague present who returned home
to face a million-dollar lawsuit for speaking out in
the press against government corruption.
