<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">Dear subscribers<div>Tomorrow is a crucial day for the progress of the Trade Union Bill as the House of Commons will pass their final votes on the draft.</div><div><br></div><div>Some concessions have been won in the House of Lords, <a href="http://www.ier.org.uk/news/trade-union-bill-report-stage-how-bill-has-changed">as detailed here</a>, but the Bill still threatens our right to strike at a time when this is far from justified - industrial action is already at a historic low!</div><div><br></div><div>In particular, turnout and support thresholds will be put in place, particularly on the public sector, that present a barrier to trade unions garnering enough support to take action. This is completely unnecessary. Strikes are already a last resort for the labour movement and the proposed thresholds are much higher than for other democratic processes!</div><div><br></div><div>You can act to help support the labour movement <u style="font-weight: bold;">today</u>.
